les revenants et genre

Les Revenants is a French unconventional horror shown through lack of conventional jump scares.

Pleonastic sound - where one instrument surpasses the others in a soundtrack in terms of loudness.

This show is an example of genre hybridity.

The Returned (French: Les Revenants) is a French supernatural drama television series created by Fabrice Gobert, based on the 2004 French film They Came Back (Les Revenants), directed by Robin Campillo. The series debuted on 26 November 2012 on Canal+ and completed its first season, consisting of eight episodes, on 17 December. In 2013, the first season won an International Emmy for Best Drama Series.

Canal+ funded part of I Daniel Blake.

Broadcast in the UK on Channel 4 but not developed by them.

Internationally distributed by Universal.

Experimental (Avant-garde) slow paced drama-zombie show.

It is a soap-opera. (family scandal, characters of different ages).

It is a cult tv show - A cult following is a group of fans who are highly dedicated to a work of culture, often referred to as a cult classic. A film, book, musical artist, television series or video game, among other things, is said to have a cult following when it has a small but very passionate fanbase.

Camille comes back to life/knocking on door of house. Shot/countershot of surprised mother.

Mise-en-scene of Camille's clothing is a typical of the zombie genre due to the lack of torn clothing.

Adele's reaction to Simon was sad because she is scared.

Attitude Online - Thursday 14th March

The difference between the representations of men in the online and the print version of this magazine is that the online magazine shows men as being more buff which paints an unrealistic expectation of gay men to have these body types. Print cover has a gay man with a moustache which is an intertextual reference to Freddie Mercury. The print cover positions the audience as a gay man who has had problems with bullying from 'jocks' in the past. He is wearing a US Army Costume which may be used to appeal to an international audience. The femininity of the camp hand on hip gesture is a convention that is specific to the gay magazine genre. He is breaking the fourth wall with the direct mode of address with the look into the camera. It presents the gay male on the front as androgynous which he clearly isn't but this is a form of anchorage. If somebody is a closet-gay then they can view the website so that they don't have to buy to magazine. It may be a way to reduce the...
