North Korea is presented as being stronger in the Mirror whereas it is shown to be ridiculous in the Sun.

Positioning - Having the audience feel whats happening in a way that gets the producer ideologies across.

Hegemonic Power is shown by the representation of the royal family.

PEA - Point - Evidence - Analyse

'Man Held' - Not stating the point clearly.
'Baby Dies' - Extreme language - Brutal Connotations.

Use of serious body language anchors the audience and makes them understand the seriousness of the story.



Has this as a full page article whereas the other paper didn't.

'hammer attack' - has extremely brutal connotations and puts emphasis on the way the child was killed.

The image of the loving couple emphasises the change in his personality.

Both show similar ideologies in different ways through the choice of lexis.


In the actual article a lot of intense language like 'critical' which has intense connotations

One ideology of the daily mirror and the times is that it is a thrilling/exciting thing.

Anchorage - The pictures that are used.

The Times wasn't trying to sensationalise this story as much as The Mirror

Times uses a formal mode of address to cater to its target audience.

The Times commented on the ethnicity of the man. This may be due to its more right wing ideologies including anti-immigration.
