Editing - The process of cutting bits off/adding bits to a video to produce a better video than you started with.
Shot - An uninterrupted sequence of footage.
Mise-en-scene - Everything in the shot.
Main Angles: Low Angle - Where the camera is below the subject.
(Can be used to make a subject look powerful/evil)
High Angle - Where the camera is above the subject. (Can be used to make the subject look weak/powerless)
Shot Type - The distance between the camera and the subject.
Long Shot - When the camera is a long distance from the subject.
Close-up Shot - When the camera is a close distance from the subject.
Audience positioning - Where the audience is in relation to the subject.

Sign - anything that can have meaning (Signs, signifiers and signifieds)

In media, the word 'code' refers to any element of media language that creates meaning for the audience.
Hermeneutic code - any code that asks a question/creates mystery.
Proairetic code - suggests something is about to happen
Symbolic code - anything with a deeper meaning
Textual analysis - refers to studying a media product.

Symbolic code - the use of the woman in the advert may be used as a tool to make women think that they need this product so that they can look more like the woman in the advert.

Symbolic - avoids direct eye contact with the audience which could show that she feels insecure.

Fandom is a subculture composed of fans characterised by a feeling of empathy and camaraderie with others who share a common interest. Attitude online's primary purpose is to promote the magazine. It has a dedicated readership which may be influenced by the online version of the magazine. Camp - A deliberately tongue in cheek attitude to the world which reinforces a lot of gay stereotypes. Drag shows are very camp to appeal to a gay audience Diva is a gay magazine that is also aimed at women but it is less popular than Attitude. Attitude online is a hyper-sexualised representation of men - most images of these men are topless and often in provocative poses which is surprising in accordance to societal hegemonic norms.
